Stacey Palmer

Costume and Scenic Designer

My passion is creating wearable art whether it be in costume or fashion design. My love is creating designs that captivate an audience, adding depth to characters on stage, and solving complex challenges that arise through costumes. Each new project teaches me to question what is expected out of design.

I also have discovered a love for scenic design and have worked incredibly hard to learn everything I can about this area of design.  Creating magic on stage through scenery and building this believable world is very exciting for me as an artist.

I have designed over 60 theater productions which range from children's theater, musicals, dance, to innovative experimental theater. After working as the Resident Costume Designer at Stages Theatre Company for 5 years, I decided to return to school to obtain my Master's Degree in Costume Design and Technology at the University of Minnesota. I worked at the University as a draper and teacher assistant as well as being a full time student.  Last fall I had the opportunity to teach Introduction to Stage Technology and Introduction to Costume Design at the University of Minnesota as an affiliate faculty member.
